WORK EXPERIENCE
Parkview Health
Information Technology Security Manager - October 2016 - Current
- Managed an IT Security team that was responsible for an over 2 million dollar security operating budget that protected 14,000 endpoints and 11,000 Parkview co-workers spread over the entirety of northeast Indiana.
- Implemented a co-managed virtual security operations center with FireEye as a Service (FaaS) that allowed for 24/7 network security protection without the need to expand and train additional Parkview IT Security staff.
- Developed a three year strategic plan for IT security that laid out a technical roadmap covering all facets of computer security for the entire health system through 2020.
- Developed and presented cyber security awareness at bi-weekly Parkview Health New Hire Orientation. Led the Information Services New Hire Orientation team to develop training sessions and an internal Sharepoint site designed to increase new employee retention rates.
- Performed PCI-DSS Readiness Review with a third-party qualified security assessor (QSA) to possibly determine security risks and concerns within Parkview’s payment card infrastructure.
- Created and led an incident response tabletop exercise with Parkview management that simulated a cyber security breach, designed to foster discussion and thoughts on how to optimize reaction in the event of a real incident.
- Proposed and received funding for multiple high-value strategic security projects including third-party vendor assessment, secure socket layer (SSL) inspection, and FireEye Threat Analytics Platform as a security information and event management (SIEM) solution.
Raytheon
Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) - February 2006 - October 2016
- Responsible for all security policies, standards, and procedures for classified computer systems of varying levels of complexity. From stand-alone machines to 100 node wide area networks.
- Managed Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) covering the entire facility to ensure day-to-day security operations were being performed according to established policies.
- Appointed as alternate Network Centric Systems (NCS) business unit ISSM by NCS Security Director. Responsible for assisting and coordinating security policies with all NCS business unit sites across Raytheon.
- Represented NCS on the Information System Tracking Database project that developed a lifecycle tracking solution for classified computer systems throughout Raytheon. Received the Security Innovation award from the Raytheon Corporate Security Director.
- Ensured the development, documentation, and presentation of information security education, awareness, and training activities for the entire Fort Wayne facility.
- Established, documented, implemented, and monitored the information security program for the facility and ensured compliance with Federal Government guidelines.
- Performed annual self-inspections of facility information security program and ensured that corrective actions were taken for all identified issues and vulnerabilities.
- Implemented security features for the detection of malicious code, viruses, and unauthorized users.
